HUNTER BROWN
A PROFESSIONAL WAKEBOARDER WHILE STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL, Hunter got a crash course in business and financial planning with his own company at age 14. Having a father who was a CPA, business advisor, mentor and agent proved to be critical to his development and success as a professional athlete.
Hunter won the ‘94 Boy’s Nationals, ‘96 Jr, Men’s World Championship, placed 4th place in the ’97 X-Games, and 3rd in the ’97 Pro Tour Stop in Austin, TX. He went on to compete around the world on the U.S. and European pro Tour until 2000.
Some his corporate sponsors included Oakley Sunglasses, Correct Craft Boats, Connelly Wakeboards, Reef Brazil, Body Glove, Rusty, Bic Sports, Bolle and No Fear.
Hunter retired from professional wakeboarding at the ripe old age of 18, but continued competing and winning titles on the collegiate level as a scholarship athlete for the Florida Southern College Water Ski team. When he wasn’t in school, Hunter coached wakeboarding at Disney in Orlando, as well as the prestigious Prince’s Club in London, England.
In 2004, he graduated with a degree in International Business Management.
After spending nearly a decade in an executive position with a midsize company doing business throughout the United States, as well as internationally, he returned to Florida and began working at his father’s CPA firm. After earning his B.S. from Florida Southern in Accounting, he received his CPA license from the State of Florida in 2014. In 2016, Hunter purchased the 33 year-old firm.
As a result of his own high profile at an early age, it was natural that some of the clients attracted to the firm were also celebrities, which gave rise to the specialty firm, Celebrity CPAs.
Hunter concentrates primarily on tax planning and preparation, business valuations and auditing, and general business consulting. Hunter enjoys working with his clients around the United States to educate them and develop tax strategies specific to each client’s circumstances and needs. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
